Mi Via, meaning “my path” or “my way,” empowers individuals with disabilities to take control of their own services and supports. This self-directed program offers flexibility and choice within an approved plan and budget, allowing participants to determine the care they receive and how their Mi Via funds are allocated.
A Mi Via participant, guardian, or designated representative serves as the Employer of Record (EOR)—a volunteer role responsible for managing employment-related tasks. This includes hiring and terminating caregivers, handling enrollment and tax paperwork, and approving timesheets and invoices.
Mi Via puts individuals and families in charge, ensuring care is tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
